Where I live in Hadsten, we have a beautiful spot where you can see the whole sky with the rolling fields just below. One evening, the sun was setting and the sky was fiery red. I couldn't see the sunset properly since we live in a residential neighborhood, but I could see the intense colors and that it was fading fast \u2013 and I had to see more, so I jumped in my car and drove as fast as I could. It felt like the time it would take for the sun to fully set was a matter of only a few minutes. I stopped the car and stepped out. The sky lit up in the most dramatic shades of red and orange. It was the most beautiful sight, and it still lives in me as a powerful memory. The calm in nature at that moment was wonderful, and after standing there enjoying the mild, cold air, the silhouette of the trees against the soon-dark sky, and the peace and stillness, I drove back with a smile on my lips.<\/p>\n
With this painting, I wanted to capture exactly that moment when the sun glows at its most intense. Where everything is calm and the only thing you can hear is the soft lapping of the waves, pulsing to the rhythm of your heart. Where your breathing slows and everything is gentle.<\/p>\n
